A; GOOD INVBS'rJIENT. '.:. Though the An&ac Aft-Union's prizes ate'not as biff and'alluring as sonic outside attractions, there can be no question that the object is immensely batter. The-purpose of the Anzao Union is. to do something practical for the men who have fought for their King and country, .to! build-'them'-a hostel or club where they can, resuscitate in the pastoral city of .the Jfanawatu until they are disposed to resunie.civil -employment,,and, having turned to.industry again,.where they may 'foregather, and relate to each other tales of the trenches or sing songs- of 'victory'.( Tho gallant fellows who have taken the' supreme risk abroad deserve, upon their return, at least, tho . club which"is to: be erected at". Pnlmerston North for their.free use. Similar institutions could well'be provided in-many centres of.the Dominion, and even then the country would not have rewarded their services in any commensurate manner. The last days for the sale of tickets for the Patriotic Art Union are announced. . The drawing will -positively .take, place on September 8. The "total valuo of thy prizes aniouuts to .E2200. Even- ' holder' of' ■ a shilling ticket will have 250;ohances. A handy application form, for tickets, is published elsewhere in this issue.-; If you cannot afford .£1 worth,of tickets, .the secretary will be glad to receive your remittance of a shilling for one ticket. -
