LONG LIST OF CASES Mr. D. Cr. A. Cooper, S.M., presided in tho Magistrate's Court yesterday. Wm. Hayden was lined £1 and 15s. costs for assaulting Minnie. Bailey. Failure to have a light at tho rear his car. resulted in Owen Aitken, Kimbolton, being lined 55., with costs 7s. Frank Davis was fined 55., with 7s. costs, for leaving a vehicle unattended. ■Henry Godfrey was 'fined 55., with costs 75., for allowing a motor-bicyclo and side-car to obstruct tho thoroughfare of Cornhill Street. Patrick Grilfen was fined 55., with costs 175., for having broken the bylaw regarding driving motors past stationary trams. Furiously riding a motor-bicyclo on Lambton Quay was a charge on which Arthur Kirk was ordered to pay. costs totalling £2 15s. ' Failure to carry a light on the front of a motor-bicycle after sunset brought Edward Lloyd a fine of '10s'., with costs 75.; Robert' Parker 55., with costs 75.: H. J. Turnbull 10s. and costs 75.; and Frederick James Dawson 10s. and costs 7s. Hawking without a license was held to have been proved against John Steward M'Donald, and he was .fined £1 with costs 7s. For like offences Edward Pointon and Win. James Smith were each fined £1, with costs 7s. Joseph Zachariah, who exceeded the speed limit on a motor-bicycle round the corner of Manners Street and Willis Street, was fined £1, with costs 7s. Joseph Hamilton was fined 10s., with costs 75., for failure to carry a. liglib on the side of &■ dray after sunset. James Carroll was fined £2, with costs 75., for having removed saud from Ohiro Beach. As the persons responsible for stock found wandering at large, W. Ashman was fined 55., with costs 75.", Alfred Bradley 10s. and cost's 145.; Thos. S. Fogden ss. and costs 7b. ; Wm. Hedge £1 and costs 75.; Henry Mitchell £1 and costs 75.; and Wm. H. Smith os. and costs 7s. Ernest Ferguson was charged with having ill-treated a dog by throwing bricks at it, hut) the information was ; dismissed. C. F. Baudinet, tobacconist, was fined 55., with costs 75., for failure to close his shop on time. Mitchell and Goodwin, grocers, were fined 10s., with costs 75., for a similar'breach. For having used threatening behaviour and indecent languago in Sydi ney .Street, Minnie Bailey was fined £1, with costs 7s. For insobriety, Thos. Flannagan was ; ordered to pay costs 7s. J Thos. Forsyth was fined £1, with , costs 75,, for breaking-a prohibition or- ■ der. For similar offences George Mur- , ray was fined'£2, with 7s. costs; Allen M'Phee, £1 and costs 75.; John M'Kini non, £2, and costs 145.; and John Redmond O'Donoghue £1, and costs 7s. Charges of having transacted business in view of a public place on a Sunday were made against Gertrude Aston, Riddiford Street, Elizabeth Burtinshaw, Adelaide Road, and Ada Jamieson, Riddiford Stroet, and each was fined 55., 1 with costs 7s. On a charge of having wilfully trespassed at 101 Ghuznee Street after being warned by Annio Thomas (tho owner) to' leave, Robert Oakley was fined £2, with costs 19s.
