The Miners' Federation lias unanimously decided to oppose the Military Service Bill. _ The Confefenco authorised, the executive to summon the Conference again to consider what further action is to be taken if the Bill is passed. THE VOTING FIGURES. "COED" VOTE NO CRITERION OF MEN'S OPINION. London, January 14. At. the Miners' Conference 653,190 votes were recorded 'against compulsion, 38,100 were in favour, while 25,249 were neutral. The miners' leaders realise that the cord vote (by delegates) is no criterion of tho opinion of the men. The leaders mostly favour ?. ballot to secure a plain yes or no to an all-imnurlant problem.
