There was a scene in tho Assembly M'lien Mr. .Johnson, Minister of Lands, in justifying the Government's action in connection with the freezing • works contract, attacked th.o newspaper "West Australian" for its .criticism, referring to its leader-writer 'as a "journalistic bloodhound." At a later stage of the debate the Premier (Mr. Scaddan) drew the attention of the House to a note which had ■been sent from the Press Gallery to Mr. Johnson by the '."'West Australian's" leader-writer. The note read "AV. D: Johnson.—You are a doubly miserable cur and a liar.—(Signed) J. C. Morrison." v.'.; On the motion of Alio Premier, seconded by the Leader of the Opposition, the House resolved that Mr. Jlorrison was guilty of 'contempt, and that he should bo excluded from the Press Ga'lery until he withdrew his remarks and apologised.
