WARDEN'S COURT

'A GOLDFIELDS CLAIM. On Tuesday last, in the Wardcn'3 Court, before Warden Hewitt, of Westland, Mrs. M'Quillaii, widow, brought an action for £2000 damages against the Ross Goldfields Goldmining Co. Extended, Ltd: . Plaintiff's husband was electrocuted while, in the employ of the defendant company, and the cause of action was alleged negligence on the part of the company. The assessors found all tho issues of negligence in favour of the company, except one, and further found 1 that the'deceased had not used ordinary caie, or no damage would have resulted. -The Warden entered judgment, for the defendants on tho findings of tho assessors, but at the request of counsel for both parties mado a conditional assessment of damage at £800, so as to enable an appeal, if thought fit, to be made on the law of the case. Costs amounting to £70 were allowed.the defendants. Mr. M. Hannan, Grcymouth, appeared for plain T tiff, and Mr. A. S. Menteath for the defendant company. ,
