G. Maoarthy. 11l November, 1912, Mrs. Fitzmaurice rented a house in, Moleswortli Street from tl}e defendant through a, house agent. Slie. states that she thought tho rent low, inquired tho reason, and was told by.the agent.that the house- was quite all right and. had nothing tlie matter with it. She occupied the place, and subsequently found bugs in it. She asserted that the condition of the premises had been falsely, represented to her, and said that she could.not honestly take another house unless, her present furniture was destroyed. Therefore she claimed £1000 from the defendant. . The defendant denied the whole of the plaintiff's allegations, and in further defence said that even if the charges were proved the representations had not been made by the defendant or any authorised agent'of his- ' '' ' ' . Mrs. Fitzmaurice (plaintiff) was represented by Mr. T. M. Wilford and Mr. P. Levi. For the Public Trustee (defendant) Mr. C. P. Skenett, K. 0., and Mr. J. W. Macdonald appeared. Evidence was heard in the morning, and when the Court resumed after lunch Mr. Skerrett announced that the ease had been settled. PROPERTY CASE'ADJOURNED. Air adjournment has been made in the partly-heard case in which Maurice Mantliel claimed damages from Arthur Bolton, and asked for an injunction against Bolton and others respectjng the advertising of. a. - "sale by mortr gage", of Mnntliel's interest in certain Courteuay Place property.
