The Statutes Revision Committee re* Ported having considered the Marriage Bill, and called ovidence. Thev recommended that'; the Bill should be allowed to proceed with amendments made. The Statutes Revision Committee rerommended that the Settled Land Amendment Bill should .be allowed to proceed with amendments.. ■The _ Bill was referred back to the Committee to consider another clause recommended by the Law Office. SIR FRANCIS BELL, in moving the adjournment of the Council tijl Thursday next, s&id that he was informed bv the Prime-Minister that it was not advisable that a longer adjournment should be taken at the present time. ]Ie would advise members on Wednesday next whether it_ was infended to make a further adjournment on the Thursday.
