' A boy named Clifford Howard Clay 3 was knocked down by a motor-car while '• playing in tho road at Brightwater yes- ! - terday, dying shortly afterwards. -At 5 the inquest to-day a verdict of death ® from a fractured skull, by being * struck bv a motor-car, no blamo being attachable to anyone was returned. BODY FOUND ON FORESHORE. Auckland, August 25.* The body qf a drowned man was found this afternoon on the foreshore near - Mechanio's Bay. -It is , presumed to be that of Glading Whisker, who fell overboard from the powder cutter Rosalie on Saturday, and was drowned. FATAL FALL OVER A PRECIPICE. Dunedin, August 25. ' Connor Leslie, aged 10 years,, a eon ' of Mr. James Leslie, of Gibbston, was killed yesterday by falling 30 feet.over a precipice, while engaged in rabbiting on tlio Chalmers run.
