BOXING
[THE LOCAL ASSOCIATION.- . Mr. R, W. M'Villy presided at las? night's meeting of the Wellington Boxing Ass<fciation, and there were alsd present: Messrs. J. E. Staples, F, Gale, W. A. Fordham, E. A. Blundell, and W. W. Cook. It was resolved to support the efforts of the New Zealand Boxing rbuncil to establish a Roll of Honour in connection with New Zealand boxers, who have to fight at tho front.' , : Advice was received that tho New! Zealand and Australian championships had been abandoned for the year on account of the war, and it was decided to abandon all district championships this year also. A donation of one guinea was granU ed to the Fresh Air Fund in England. It was. decided, on tho motion of Mrj Staples, to present a cup for competition to the Croydon School at Day's Bay. The cup will be awarded each year to the most scientific boxer at thei school. Tho trophy is not to be won outright, but 7s to remain tho property of the school.
