PARLIAMENT
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The Settled Laud Amendment Bill was read a second time, and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. Th£ Expiring Laws Continuance Bill was also read a_ second tima, and as it had not been circulated, was made an order of tlie day foe committal cn Tuesday next. ■ The Marriage 'Amendment Bill and the Births and Deaths Registration Amendment. Bill were both read a second time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. SIR FRANCIS BELL explained that the amendments were technical, and the Bills contained no new provisions. The Hon. R. K. Simpson was granted further leave of absence for two weeks oh account of illness. The Council adjourned .at 2.45 p.m. until 2.30 p.m.' on Tuesday, Sir Francis Bell intimating that it would not be necessary to provide more than a, quorum on that day.
