It is semi-officially announced thai while a column of wounded was leaving tho battlefield on the Isonzo to reach motor ambulances, an Austrian aeroplane descended to a height of 330 yards, from where tho bandages on the men were clearly visible, and opened a vigorous maohine-gun fire upon the wounded. Tho fire was continued for some time, fortunately with little damago.
