Th'e Press Bureau reports:—Sir John French reports activo mining operations on both sides during, the last few days, with intermittent artillery engagements. There were no infantry attacks. Tho enemy exploded threo mines in tho neighbourhood of Sainto Gloi, and olio near Givenchy. Only ono did slight damage. Wo exploded a miiio on July. 28 north of Gourtclccn, and destroyed twenty yards of the enemy's parapet. One of our aeroplanes on July 25 shot down a German'machine, which foil iu our lines east of Zillebekc. FRENCH OFFICIAL' COMMUNIQUE?:-. Paris, July 29. CROWN PRINCE HARANGUES HIS TROOPS. ' Amsterdam, July 29. During a field servico in the Argoimc, tho Crown Prince addressed tho troops who. stormed the height on July 13. The success achieved by the French, at Ban-de-Sapt, in the Vosgcs, was of considerable moral as well as material value. Tho number of French was comparatively small, but they, were called upon to act against superior numbers of picked men after a period of particularly trying operations, w'hicli might have been expected to leave them suffering from the effects of fatigue. The victory achieved furnished a definite proof of the French ascendency over the enemy. A leading .French military critio says that it is a proof that our soldiers are always in form, and guarantee that when tho operation is repeated simultaneously at various points along our front, the German resistance will bo broken.
