ASSOCIATION
AN IMPORTANT RESIGNATION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington 1 football Asi sociation was held last evening. In the absence of Mr. A. E. 'Wells, Mr. 11." Yeoman occupied the chair. Mr. 11. M'Keowen, vice-president, and Messrs. T. Thompson, J. M'Ardle, and A. Williams were also present. In reply to a letter asking for a reduction in the charge for tlio use of city reserves to the amount of too charged last year the Town Clerk wrote, stating that the council could not see its way clear to depart from the charge of £10 10s. per ground. On the motion of Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. T. Thompson, it was resolved to pay the rent this season on fivo and a half grounds, viz., £57 los. Mr. A. E. Wells, who has been chairman of tho committee for the past two seasons tendered his resignation. On account of a quorum not being present, consideration of this and other business was held over till next meeting. Tho fixtures for Saturday will be published 10-morrow morning.
