London, June 25. Tho "Times correspondent at Paris, says that the Germans are vigorously attacking in the Argonno and Lorraine in order to relievo the increasing pressure of the French push towards Lens. The operations illustrate the overwhelming importance of shell-fire. Day and night tho Germans are pouring a stream of high explosives on to tho French lino. In one sector they hurled twenty shells a yard for hours on a. front of 220 yards.—("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.)

Amsterdam, Jiine 26. A Berlin official communique states: Hand-to-hand fighting which was proceeding north of Soucliez, between Soucliez and Nouville, for positions which the French captured, concludcd in the enemy being ejected on Fridaj; night. They sent reinforcements, but these were repulsed, "There has been heavy fighting on the Meuse Heights, west of Combres. The French, oil a front of three kilometres (1 4-omiles), attacking in deep formation, four times attacked us, but wherever they penetrated they were ropulsed in hand-to-hand fighting, with severe losses. The enemy still holds a piece of the trench which was captured on June 20. ...
Since the beginning of the Arras battle, our airmen have been fighting for the supremacy of the air. Our losses have not been in vain, and for some days we have obviously been getting the advantage."
