BARQUE IN DISTRESS
STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. (By Telegraph—Press Association,) Auokland, March 28. The Norwegian barque Cis, 1554 tons, from New Caledonia to Glasgow, with nickel ore, put into Auckland yesterday for repairs. On March 20, when one hundred miles from the North Cape and in almost a dead calm she was struck by lightning which brought the main top-mast, top-gallant mast, mizben top-mast with yards and> sails crashing on to the port rail. No one was injured, and the crew of fifteen, after some hours' strenuous work, cleared away the wreckage and sot a course for Auckland.
