MOTOR-CAR DRIVER ARRESTED
c— AFTER KNOCKING MAN OVER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auokland, March 14. A man named Hugh M'Glachen was knocked down by a motor-car and re.- " oeived painful injuries to his head. A ? number of pedestrians who witnessed the _ accident called put to the driver of the I car, and an attempt was made to stop ;• him. One of the bystanders _ jumped . on to the motor as it was passing him, hut was unable to the driver pull up. Luckily a policeman on point duty _ at TVellesley Street realised what was happening, and he managed to bring the o car to a standstill. The driver of the car was arrested and was driven to the police station in his' own oar, the ser--1" vices of a chauffeur from a taxi stand near by being requisitioned to take him j to the lock-up.
