NATIONAL RESERVE

LYALL BAY BRANCH FORMED. A meeting wa6 held at Moore's Hal], Lyall Bay, last night, for the purpose of forming a local branch of the 'Wellington District . National Reserve. Major Davis (vioe-president of the Wellington District) presided. A resolution was passed forming a sub-branch for the Lyall Bay and Kilbirnie South districts, and the following officers were appointed Chairman, Mr. J. Doyle; secretary, Mr. G. James; treasurer, Mr. J. Robinson; committoe, Messrs. Ward, Hackworth, Mee, Kennedy, and Ashton. The meeting was addressed by the chairman and Mr. W. Leslie (Wellington District secretary). The. two speakers explained the objects and management of the reserve. . Votes of thanks to the speakers and the chair and a special vote of thanks to Mr. and Mrs, Moore for the use of the hall concluded the meeting. . Subsequently the oommittee met-and discussed the details of local arrangements.

WELLINGTON SOUTH SECTION. A largely-attended meeting of the Wellington South section of the National Reserve was hold last evening in the Newtown Library, Mr. J. P. Firth, the Principal of. Wellington Collego, presiding. Mr. Firth was elected captain of the section. After the mooting closed-tho members engaged in preliminary drill. OFFICE IN THE CITY. ' In connection with the 'National Reserve, an office has been secured on Lambton Quay, over Davis and Clater's shop, at which, as soon as the necessary furniture, etc., has been installed, tho district secretory (Mr. Walter Leelio) will be in attendance on certain days at hours to be notified at a later date. He will be there for the purpose of enrolling members, supplying enrolment forms and badges, and to give any information or transact any business in respect to the reserve.
