AUSTRALIAN BOYS ON TOUR

Arriving next Wednesday there will be a group of forty Australian boys, organised by tho Young Australia licaguc, Oil a comprehensive oversea tour. Liku the expedition of tho same smo L lc . h circlod the globe in 1911 and 1912, this party will have for its objects the furtherance of tho edncation by travel and an effort to advertise tho Commonwealth and its resources. During the previous undertaking over 130 towns and 'cities in different parts of tho world were visited, and in each centre literature issued by the Commonwealth distributed, while tho senior boys assisted the officers in delivering lectures at the various high schools, taking as their subject "Australia. For tho coming tour a group of ton of tho elder boys have undergone a course of study to equip them tor a similar lecturing campaign, directed chiefly towards tho high schools of tno United States, A big feature of tho tour, which is organised by tho same gentleman who so successfully carried out tho management of its predecessors—Mr. J. J. Simons—will bo tlio participation in the opening coremo'ninls in connection with tho Panama Pacific International Exposition in February, and this should bo a wonderful education for these hoys, whoso ages range from 11 to 19.

Included in the party is a. band or (16 instruments which is acknowledged by inany musical critics to bo ono of tlio l>est bands in Australia. Visits will bo made to tho Gear Meat preserving works, and tho . Wellington Woollen Mills at Potono. Tho national secretary of the Y.M.C.A., Mr. A. Jameson, is interesting himself in the visit of theso boys, and further, ho is thoroughly conversant with tho high ideals of this loagno and its officials, ho having spoilt somo years in Porlh, whore tho Young Australia Leagno's headquarters arc.
