To Dr. Maclaurin is due the sincere thanks of the committee and the_ community at large for the great service he ha 9 rendered as representative of the New Zealand committee in America, for it is almost solely due_ to his energy and influence that the visit of such a number ot distinguished scientists from America has .been secured.
