The Hon. Gilbert Carson was entertained'ou Saturday afternoon by the Mavor of Wanganui and many citizens and representatives of local public bodies, in recognition of 'his elevation to. the Legislative Council.—Press Association. The funeral of the late Sir. Caleb Lusty took place at Petone yesterday afternoon, and was largely attended.
