A meeting of the executive of the Wellington , South Progressive Society was held at Nowtown on Thursday evening. , tne president, was chairman, and there was a good attendance of members. Satisfactory reports regarding Arbor Uay were received. The most important business before the meeting-was the question of having a gala for Newtown. The meeting, discussed the matter at great length, and then resolved Hot there shall be a gala for Newtown and in connection with n the election of a gala queen. As it was thought that monv persons from outside the South.
