HEALTH OF SHEEP.

DR. REAKES'S.REPORT ON OUR FLOCKS. ' -In the course of his address at the A. and P. Societies' Conference, Dr. C. J. Reakcs remarked that.the general health of. 'sheep continues good, and that it is a rare experience to find mortality of any kind occurring from- causes other than dietetic troubles and stomach and lung parasites... "An investigation is irt progress in connection with the disease termed lympho-adenitisj" he added. '"This, '.'though.'.it. rarely affects 'the health of sheep. to- any noticeable extent, is a frequent cause of loss to owners through the necessity for properly dealing with affected . carcasses when inspected oil slaughter. It seemsqnito probable that sheep become infected through tho medium of. wounds inflicted through docking and shearing. Loss of owes through paralysis and extrusion of the vagina when doso on lambing, both conditions the indirect result of tlin animals beine too fat, occurs far less frequently. While ewes,need , to be-licpt in good healthy condition up to lambing, it is a mistake in every way to haro them too fat, for then thoir vigour is reduced, and even if they escape serious trouble, thoir lambs are 'less likely to prove vigorous antl profitable in tho Full sense.of'tho term."
