Mrs. George Fairloy, who underwent a very serious operation on Wednesday last, is making-excellent, progress. Mr. Len Renwick, who recently -underwent an operation 'for'appendicitis, has so far recovered as to bo able to leavo the'Otaki.Hospital. Sickness is prevalent in all parts of the district, and cases of' whooping cough are still fairly numerous. Influenza cases are numerous. Mrs. Tulloch, of Otaki, has donated £1 towards the funds for thei purchase of new instruments for the Otaki Maori brass band. The Horowhenua Hockoy: Association have sent in a challenge for the Norden Cup, but there is very little likelihood of tne match being played, as all dates are full up to September 12. ..
