PLAYING "TWO UP." WHARF LABOURERS FINED Among tho cases dealt with at the Magistrate's Court yesterday were formations charging three wharf labourers with playing "two up," in Waterloo Quay. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., was on the Bericli, and Inspeo ' tor Hendrey prosecuted. The accused, J. Cook, William Murc'hie, and Charles Alfred Smith, wore represented by Mr. H. F. O'Leary, and pleaded not guilty. The cases against Cook and Mufchie were taken first. Con. stables Crow and Johnston having actually seen tho accueed tossing .coins for at least twenty minutes. Similar evidence was given in Smith's case, which' was taken separately, as counsel for accused wished to cail evi-. denco to establish an alibi.
