Ati a confcrenco between tho bonrd and the MangaM'lioro Road Board yesterday a novel protection, similar to what is in use on tho_ mountain roads of Switzerland, was dceided on, viz., to clear tho rock-fall at the road lovel, and from it, to erect a long shed, tho roof of which will be sufficiently higTi to allow a man on horseback to rido along underneath 1 it.
