At a meeting of St. John's Kirk S'ession, held oil Wednesday evening, the following resolution was passed; "This meeting of the Kirk Session, representing the members and adherents of St. John's Church. again pletlgos itself to' support the platform of tho fiiblft-i-n-Schopl-s League, agreed upon by the General Assembly, and ottoe iiioro requests that a'•referendum of the whole people of the Dominion be taken ttpbii the question. This meeting expresses the conviction that tosmiteli as tiro referendum lias been repeatedly requested by the respective governing courts at four, denominations repress® tiftg 75 per ceiit. of the- papulation, .which request lias been reiterated by the constituencies of those- denominations, and further endorsed by a request in writ*ing sighed by upwards oil iSH.OOO individual electors, tho Government is more than amply justified in facilitating the- wishes of such a largo proportion of the. people. Mores vor as the request is not ashing the Government to decide on the IUM-its of this League's proposals, lmt to allow the people of the Powiirion to eoate to a decision, them* s-elves mi the matter, this meeting would regret any action 011 the part of. the Government- which, by leaving this question standing' over, wWa thereby constitute it a disturbing factor at the nest General Election,"
