Teachers to the number of about 80 yesterday outered upon a co-u-rso of iij* struction, .iiinder tho guidance of physical education instructors, at' Hutt I'ark racecourse. They include teachers fr..m Hutt Valley, Manawatu, md City schools, and also a number of etudijiits. An excelleni site has bacii selected for the camp, with plei-ity of open space for football β-ntl otter games, which the teachers wiil indulge in when not undergoing instruction. Tiio camp is also adjacent to sca-wator b.ith» ing, and yesterday's. brilliant- siiinshiue in. the Hutt Valley tempted a number to indulge in swimming. The morning was mainly devoted to pitrfii.Hg cattip, and no instruction was given, owing to tho fact that the Manavy&tit teacher's did aiot arrive till lato in tiis affcernoon, An explanation of the syllabus was given during the day, and theoretical work commenced in.tho aftcfiinott, wlie-n Mr. Royd Garlick, Director of Physical Education, was present, 'the ea-mp is under the control of Instructor Johnston and Quartermaster Jiisfc.

Tho routine to be followed each day constitutes individual instruction before breakfast, followed by alternate theoretic il and practical work from 9 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. A portion of each <fey will also bo devoted to swimming, life* saving, and rescue drill. To -enable those students who arc desirous of at. tending lecturer, at Victoria College to get away, provision has been .made for them to leavo oaniß each, day at 3 J. Hi. They will spend tho night in town, aild return to the camp early tiio fallowing morning. By tho timo the second week is reached the teachers will tade-rttikg the instruction of squads in the new exercises.
