BLASPHEMY LAWS.

'A deputation which interviewed Mr. Asquith (the Prime Minister) urged him to repeal the Blasphemy Laws, stating that there had been mqre prosecutions in the last six years than in tho preceding sixty. The. lav/ was used to gratify malice, 'while a Christian-could use offensive language against other religions, a Freethinker who attacked Christianity could be imprisoned. Mr. Asquith replied that most of the statutes were obsolete, and a,<itpcd to introduce legislation.
