Councillor Cimino said that ho had noticed a very obvious mistake in regard to a statement by Mr. T. Ward (chairmaiij'of the Motor J3us Company) ivhen he replied to Councillor Frost's complaint to the City Councilthat conductors on'the Karori buses had been dispensed with, and that it was tho custom to lock the doors. Although-Mr. Ward had stated that the doors' wero always open for exit, he (Councillor Cimiuo) had noticed that they were scrowed up. ■ The Mayor , remarked that the council could always draw, tho attention of the Bus Company to.any matters which it considered should bo remedied.:.

Councillor Boyes inquired whether the Bus Company had done anything in regard to storing petrol. The speaker understood that they were to .put up a concrete building for this.' purpose. If they had not. done this tho storing of the petrol was a menace to people living in the vicinity. . ; .

After, the borough engineer had -explained the position the. Mayor remarked that it appeared that the Bus Comppay had met the case in this respect. In reply to a request from Mr. J. R. Tarr for a reduction, in the grazing fee for tho back portion of the park from £20 to £15 per annum, it was decided to meet him half way and reduce the fee to £17 10s.

The Recreation Ground Committee recommended that any moneys received from grazing on the park should bo ear-marked and used for planting trees in the back portions of the park. -It was also recommended that tho borouMi engineer should enlarge- the ■ present reservoir at the quarry. Both recommendations wore adopted. : A letter was , received some weeks' from tho Wellington. Hockey Association regarding the erection of dressing rrioms for the clubs and tlio hire oi these- for tho. season. It'was recommended by, the Recreation Ground Committee that plans and estimates for four' rpoms, utilising the present straker shed, should be prepared and submitted to .the council for consideration, and that tho secretary of the Wellington Hockey Association bo advised accordingly. ■ ■ . . . Councillor Hamilton' moved: "That the Town Clerk.bc instructed to prepare a trial bala'nce-sbeet' of the general account as soon as possible after the closo of thejfinancial year, and thata copy be forwarded to each councillor." —Carried.
