■The visiting American athletes havo now arrived from their Sonth Island tour, and aro training assiduously for tlio big two-days' carnival at Athletic I'ark oil Boxing Day and December 27. G. P. Keddcll, the Australasian champion hurdle!' and record-holder, has also accompanied them, and will.be pitted against tho crack American, Templcton, over the sticks. L: J. Mark, who only last Saturday won the championship of Auckland for tlio third successive year in the 100' yards sprint, will also run, and ho. will compete against L. G. Parker. Tho lielil events will be enlivened by the presence of ,W. J, M'Holm, holder of the Australasian record for hammer throwing, who will bo opposed to R. Caughey. whoso feat of breaking tho New Zealand record in tho shot-putting event at Duuedin, on Saturday last, shows that ho is rapidly approaching; his homo form. Touches of variety will bo provided by the exhibitions of discus and javelin throwing, which will bo given by the visitors.
