It depicted a denouement, pointed ;v 'moral, and implied a friendly caution which I "esteemed to bo quite unnecessary. : Tho picturo on tlio card displayed a' bulldog, standing on his hind legs, and supporting, with his fore legs on a hotel bar,. tho weight of a most-dejcctcd and ragged-looking corpus. Ho wore ft hat, which, tilted disreputably over his left ear, while, there was that in his half-closed eye which expressed a disgusted resignation'to tho worst that might befall him. ■ Unernoath, printed in fantastic letters, was the sentence: "I don't care what becomes of mo!" That .such" a - caricature '.of human frailty, in the. midst of ~ festivities, should have been.addressed to me—well, no matter. Let.';that pass; But on these' Christmas' occasions it ought to bo possible to consider ..the aptness of. tho souvenir—that it may befit not only tho season,'but tho,.man,, or tho woman. .For example: .
