WIRELESS MESSAGES.

* NEW SCHEDULE OF RATES. Tho reduced, rates for wireless messages will come into operation on January 1. Tho full schedule is set out in last night's Gazette. The chargo for tho transmission of an _ ordinary radio-telegram to or from ships (other than ships trading exclusively between ■tho Commonwealth of Australia and Neiv Zealand, or between ports on tho coast of New Zealand) from or to any telegraph office in Now Zealand, shall be 10(1. per word, allocated as follows Ship station chargo 4d. per word Coast station and inland charges Gd. ~ Tlio chargo for the transmission of an ordinary radio-telegram to or- from ships trading exclusively bctweon the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand, or between ports on the coast of New Zealand, from or to any telegraph office in Now Zealand, shall be 5tL per word, allocated as follows:— Ship station charge 2d. per word Coast station and inland charges 3d. ~ Tho charge for tho transmission of an ordinary radio-telegram to or from £ho mainland of New Zealand from ot to Chatham Islands'. Mncquario Island, 'Adclie Land, or to His Majesty's ships (when in New Zealand waters), shall bo fid. per word. Tho charge for an urgent radin-telo-grnm is the chargo for' an ordinary radio-telegram plus tho rates char/zed for.urgent telegrams over the telegraph systems the'message has to traverse. Whenever Chatham Islands Radio Station is used as n, relaying station the charge shall bo 4d. per word.
