THE TROUBLE WITH AUCKLAND. MATCH LAPSES. A meeting of tho Wellington Cricket Association was held in tho Sports Federation Booms last evening. Mr. C. A communication from tho New Zealand Cricket Council re the Australian team for Now Zealand stated that tho council had accepted the offer of Mr. Arthur Sims, of Christchurch, to bring over a team from Australia, and tho team will leave Sydney about January 28 for Auckland. The team will includo tho following players: Armstrong, Trumper, Ranstord, Mackenzie, Dr. Dolling, Waddv, Noble, and Lavcr. A Saturday will be included in the Wellington match. Tho terms offered are that tho visitors shall receive 60 per cent, of tho total gross proceeds of each match against the major associations, and no guarantee will be required from theso associations. Mr. Midlano was appointed selector for tho Canterbury match and Mr. C. G. 1 Wilson for the other southern matches. Miscellaneous Matters. On tho motion of tho chairman it was resolved that a letter bo sent to tho New Zealand Council asking them to try and arrange a match with tho Wellington Cricket Association on tho return of tho New Zealand team from tlioir southern matches. Tho following are making trip:—Bowen, Carruthers, Collett, Hutchings, Jackson, Johnston, Lloyd, Nash, Murphy, Walters, Smith, and W. Toohill. BOYS' LEAGUE. Tho selector (Mr. F. JU'Clusky) has chosen the following senior grade players to represent the Boys' Cricket League in a match with Mr. F. Bowles's team, to bo played on the Basin Reserve on New Year's Day, commencing at 11.30 a.m.:—V. Hally, Swinnoy (Y.M.C.A.), G. Boesley, G. Tierney (United Methodist), M'Cauley, Marchmont, Denrath (Marist A), Parrant (Marist B), Mcnce, Bramley (Telegraph), Hoare (St. Anne's), Tucker, Cunningham (Boys'' Institute).
