Respecting the theft, the defendant wa3 admitted to twelve months' probation, and was ordered to refund the money within three months. On the second charge ho was remanded to appear at Marton on Wednesday. THIEF IMPRISONED. • ' Tho theft of a brief-bag and £10 worth of property, belonging to Norman L. Gurr, was alleged against Frederick George Do Lislo, .He pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. . Cliief-Detectivo Brolierg said that Do Lisle recently arrived from the South Island, and had been leading the life of a vagrant- since coming to Wellington, lie stole Mr. Gurr's bs'ig from a local hotel, and sold it to a dealer for 3s. Gd., and disposed of the pine nez which wore in it to another ' dealer for ?' 3s. Gd. Documents from the hag had been hidden by defendant .in a shed on the reclamation ground, but had. since been recovered. OTHER CAPES. " Frederick Kemp was ordered to" pay costs (lis.) for having used insulting words to a sergeant of polico, Esther Collier pleaded guilty to two charges of having used certain language.
