FIRE AT PORTSMOUTH DOCKYARD.
TWO SIGNALMEN KILLED. By Telegraph—Prasa ABSoelatlon-OdpyrisM ' London, December 21. A huge semaphore tower surrounding n block of stores at Portsmouth Dockyard has been burned. Two of the signalmen in the tower perished. The lire did damage estimated atseveral hundred thousand pounds. Oils and naval stores were destroyed ill large quantities. The battleship Queen Mary was threatened but was towed to safety. . Tho rigging house, sail loft and the staff-captains' oflices wore burmli A largo force of naval men prevented tho firo spreading to tho oil tanks.
