CHRISTMAS MAIL SERVICES.

- . 4 On Christmas Day tho Chief I'ost Office. will be closed in all branches. The oniy dispatch of mails for Wairarapa, Haivko's Bay, Manawatu, Kangitikci, Wangamii, Tarauafei, lid Auckland districts will close on that day at 6.30 a.m., and mails for dispatch by steamers will close tho previous evening at 8 ».m. There will bo 110 clearances oi the city and suburban receivers, but all tho city central, To Aro, and T'horndon receivers will bo closet! the prewous evening at C p.m., ellington ,South u p.m.. and all others at 4 p.m. ihc midnight cleaTanccs will bo made as usual. There will not be any delivery by letter-carriers, .On V/Ctliiesday, December 24, the inquiry-counter will bo Open from 8 to 9 p.m., for the delivery of all correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office, and the same evening tho inquiry counter in the Letter-car-riers' Department will be open from 8 to 0 p.m. for delivery of all corrospondenco addressed to streets in tho city and suburbs; also the public counter in the Parcels Department will, bo open from Sto 9 p.m. •. . „ , On Boxing Day the Chiet Post ORico will bo open in all branches, except the Money Order and Savings Bank Department, from 9to 10 a.m. The only dispatch of mails far Wairarapa, Hawke's Day, Manawatu, Rangitilcei, Wanganui, Taranaki, and Auckland districts will close at 6.30 a.m., aiid mails for dispatch by steamers will close at 8 a.m. The citv and suburban receivers will not be cleared durinrtho day, but the midnight clearances will be made as.usual. Tho letter-carriers will make ono full delivery, in tho city and suourbs, for which all correspondence must bo posted at the Chief Post Offico i a.m. . ■
