Gann, to whom a trAnsfer of Section 14, Blook I, Hawtrey Settlement, from ft. Foreman had bfen frrantpd, wrote that Mr. Horsman had left thg Dominion and that he was prepared to complete the transfer. Mt. Horsman's Interest having been forfeited on July 31 last, it was resolved to rescind the forfeiture to enable the transfer to be registered. Messrs. Wynyard and Skelton wrote on bohalf of the Onehun?a »?awmilling Co., as mortgagees of M. H. King, that tho company was desirous'of entorinjr into possession of the timber license otfir Sections 1, 3, 4, and 6, Block XII, Kaitieko, and work timber for disposal.— l Consideration postponed. j. J. E. Hunt applied for a license to cut sleepera and ■ remove dead timber from Crown land on each side of Main Road between Waimarino Railway Station and the Spiral overhead bridge, formerly granted to W. Smith.—The latter having left the district, it was resolved to grant the license applied for on payment of usual royalties. The Ohakune Borough Council applied for Sections 2. 3, 18, 20, Bloek XXI, Ohakune Township, ana Section 13, Ohakune V.8., and also for an' easement 10 feet wide for water fluming in connection with the olectrio lighting scheme, ov-er Sections 15, 18, and 11 oha tune V.S.—Left in the hands of the Commissioner. The council also applied for Sections 12, 13., 14, Block XXI, Ohakune Township as a Site for a reservoir, and it was resolved to leave this also to - the Commissioner to deal with.

OTlwyer applied for an, area of about 11 acres adjoining Section 8, Block XIII, Ohinewairua, as a fence line, and it was resolved to recommend the sale under Section 181 of th!e kttnd Aot, 1908, provided lie pays (or oost of survey ana a new title. E. V. Dixon applied for a permit to occupy ft strip of Crown land Boar, Owhango Township, and it was resolved to grant the application upon payment of a rental of .£1 per annum, subject to usnial conditions. Mrs. S. Richmond, it was reported, Had declined to accept a renewal of her lease of Seotion 22, Block VII, Mangahao, 69 oiores, on tho terms offered by tne board. —Held over for a month. Mrs. Agnes J. Biggar applied for a permit to occupy Sections 56 to 62 and 73, Makuri Township, • area 3 acres 8 roods 38 poles, from year to year, at a rental of £5 10b. per annum, subject to usual conditions.—lt was resolved to offer the section for public competition. It was resolved to rosoind the resolution of July 31 last offering: a grazing permit to 0. J. Bryco of Sections 46 and 48, Marshall Village, he having declined to accept the torrns offored. It was furthor resolved to grant P. W. Jenson a permit to occupy Sections 23 and 24, Umutoi Village from year to year, at a rent of Jll per annum, subject' to usual conditions. Also to offer a leaso of Sections 4, 7, 8, o,' and 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, Umutoi Village, by tender, from year to year, grouped in such lots and at such upset rentals as tho Commissioner may see fit to determine. It was also resolved to invite tenders for leases of Sections 5 and 10, Umutoi Village, being Publio Reserves, for a term at such upset rentals as the Commissioner may determine. John Waugh wrote that he could not take a leaso of Section 91, Block XIV, Apiti, at. tho rental of JJ2I per annum as advertised. —Tho board will reoffer a leaso at an upset rent of .615. Tho following local' bodies submitted proposals for expenditure of accrued thirds, which were approved, subject to investigation by tho ranger, and sd far as tho amounts are still available:—Waitotara County Council, X3(i7 IGs. 3d.; Mangaweka Town Board, .£ls 12s. Gd. Jeremiah Hurley having declined to acoept a renewal of liia lease of E.R. Section 229, Hwiterville Township, on tho terms offered by tho board, it was agreed to allow tho rent to be fixed by arbitration. Messrs. Perham, Larson and Co., wnose tramway license through Section 35, Block V, Karwi expired on June 30, 1913, cp* plied for a new license for tram line and water-race alofigsido it for a term of 14 years. It was resolved to adopt tho ranger's roport in this case. Messrs. Mounsell and Hart applied on behalf of Messrs. Sayors and Saywell for 12 months' extonsion of their heenso to cut and remove timber from Crown land in Block 11, Waiohino S.D.—Approved. The ranger reported resumption and possession of Section 31, Biock XII, Belmont, G acres, I'aparangi Settlement, with valuation, and it was resolved to reoffer it on renewable lease, the valuation to be fised by Valuation Department, or by tho ranger. It was resolved to recommend that the bush remaining on Section 1, Block VIII, llakctuku, after having been milled by A. Broadbelt, be felled, and _the area, about 40 acres, sown in grass. E. J. Smith wrote that ho had previously decided to surrender his tenanoy of Section 1, Pirinka Suburbs, as, owing to its swampy nature, he could not make proper use of it, and it was resolved to accept the surrender as from June 30 last. Tho Waimarino County Council applied to hypothecate thirds from Section 9, Block V, Itarioi, for special loan to form Dreadnought Road, and It was resolved to' approve subject to the ranger's report being favourable. Mr. M. leitch renewed his application for part of Section 9, Blook VIII, Whirinaki, to be added to his holding, and a similar application was received from It. H. Hadley. In this matter it was decided that tho board adhere to its former decision. The ranger reported on the Application of W. Pulton to occupy Section ia, Block X, Ngamatea, and it was resolved to grant a license to occupy for 5 years under Section 130 of tho Land Act, 1908, at a rent of .£2O lis. per annum, subject to protection of lessee's improvements, except buildings. It was also resolved that a lease of Section CBI, Block X, Ngamatea, ba offered to Adjoining owners at a rent based on a price of 355. per acre. It was resolved to authorise the Confmissioner to offer to the adjoining owner a permit to occupy part of Eailway Reservo, Block IV, Kairanga, area 8 acres 3 roods 29 poles, from year to year, at a rent ,of .£1 per annum, subject to usual conditions. Tho Commissioner submitted a plan of Section 12, Blook XIII, Kairanga E.R., into 5 lots, and it was resolved to offer on lease at rentals based upon capital values shown on records Vt 57/136. W. E. Pass applied for permission to erect a small milling plant to cut dead timber on Crown land, between Waimarino Road and tho Spiral, near Eaurimu. It was resolved to grant him a sawmill license upon payment of royalty for timber off the saw at the rate of 2s. per 100 superficial feet. No green timber to be cut and royalties to be paid before timber is removed. It was decided to offer Section 9, Block X, Horopito West Township, 1 Mod, on lease, at an annual rent of iSI for 7 years, weighted with •i! 3 for improvements. The board determined to offer Section 20, Block IX, Hunua, area 90 acres 3 roods 31 poles, under Part 111, Laud Act, 1908, at a capital value as shown on records 28593/1. Mrs. A. B. Coyle applied for a lease of Section 101, Block X, Raetihl Township, and it was resolved to grant her a permit to occupy the land from year to year at a rent of .£1 per annum, under Section i 130 of the Land Act, 1508, and subject to usual conditions. A. W. Mayer applied for a lease of Sections 1 to i, 6 to 9 inclusive, Block IV, Mangawofca South Township, and it wa9 resolved to grant him a permit to occupy at a rent of .£2 per annum, under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, and subject to usual conditions. It was decided to approve of tho upset prices of Sections 125 and 12G, Manunui Township (which it has been decided to offer by public, auction), being fixed at J335 each. Messrs. Warren Bros., wlio hold a lease of Pahiatua No. 2 Block, from the former Natiyo owners, applied to bo allowed to acquire a portion of the'block, about 25 aores, between its southern, boundary and the fence they have erected, to obtain a good fence line, and it was re- : solved to approve at such a price as may be fixed by the Commissioner, and subject to tho applicant# paying cost of survey. Also tnafc their application to acquire the fiver flat between main road and Makakahi River bo not entertained. It was decided to offer a permit to F. Gibson to occupy SccETon 94, Block XIV. Ohinewairua, 1 rood 27 poles, froni year to year, under Section 13, Land Aot, 1908, at a rental of £2 15s. per annum, subject to usual condition;). A resolution waa carricd inviting.tenders for a new lease of Section 28, HataTO4 V.S., area 1 acre 2 roods 89 poles, for a term of 7 years from January 1, 1914. at an upset rent of £1 per annum, subject to usual conditions. G. H. Williams applied for e lease of a a' ' of about Bor 10 acres of Crown between the road and railway line, about 1 mile south of Ovrhango Railway Station.—The application was refused. It was resolved that tho leases Pastoral Runs 29 and 30, Motukawa Block, which expire on February 28, 1914, be extended for 12 months from that date. Wfcakarato Tuwbaretoa wrote in reply to the offer of tho board of a temporary permit to occupy Part Waimarino A Block, about 100 acTes, that lie had been given to understand that the land ho had improved was Native land, and asked that ho either bo allowed to exchange other land held by himself and family for* it, or that he ba allowed to select it without competition, under O.R.P. tenure,— This request was declined. Certain selectors, it was reported, had not complied with the conditions of theii ocupation, and it was resolved to take a ration against them in each case:—P.
