YOUTHFUL LOVER'S SAD END.
(By TekeraDh—Press Association.! Auckland, October 11. 'Alfred Edward Day, aged seventeen years, who was. found unconscious on tho beach at Dovonport, and removed to the hospital, died an hour later. Day spont last night in town, returning home by tlio ferry steamer. Ho confided to a companion that his girl had thrown him over, and said lio was to take his life. His companion, noticing that Day had a hottlo of poison, and was m a blue mood, reported tho matter to a constable, and a search resulted, ana Day was found at midnight in a dying condition.
TRAP ACCIDENT ENDS FATALLY. Hastings, October 11. Mrs Annie Webb, aged fifty-four, who was thrown from a trap on Wednesday, succumbed to lier injuries tins morning. At tho inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.
