Jolly Friar showed the way over tho first couplo of fences, with Combination lying next. At the far turn Jolly Friar was a length in front of Combination, but turning into the straight Coy drew, out and, under pressure, won by two and a half lengths. The Cornet was the smartest to begin, and ran round tho first turn in company with Stamboul and Martel, the trio being two lengths in front of St. Petersburg, Ladrone, and Medallist. Martel had charge when racing past tho six furlongs post, half a length in front of Stamboul, The Cornet being next. Martel showed tlio way round the far turn, and Gapon moved into third place,' arid Apliaea dropped back. Racing along for tho straight Stamboul was showing out from Martel, with Gapon closo up, Tlio Cornet lying next. Heading for home Stamboul had charge from Martel,' Gapon, The_ Comet, and St. Petersburg being fairly closo up. At the distance Stamboul came away to win by a. good length from Specialform, who just beat The Cornet. St. Petersburg, Ladronc, and Martel wero tho next to finish, almost in a line. My Lawyer was the first to break the line, and at the cud of a furlong was loading Palisade and Obsono. Robert Bell bringing up the rear. Palisade showed the way round the far turn, half a length in front of Kostroma, with My Lawver and Sea King close up. Racing to the straight Palisade was half a length in front of Kostroma, and then came My Lawyer, with Teviotdale improving his position, whilst Sea King had dropped back last. In the race homo Palisade won comfortably W three parts of a length from My Lawyer. Kostroma was two lengths away third, and Teviotdale a length away fourth. Then came Robert Bell.
