Lewis Waller is an actor of many parts, and somo illustrious roles aro associated with him, whilst names brilliant in the annals of the stage havo figured with his in tho casts. Amongst theso may be mentioned a few. 110 played Orlando to tho Eosalind of Madame Modjeska, Pygmalion to the Galatoa of Julia Noilson, Charles Surfaco to tho Lady Teazle of Miss Fortescue, Duke of Buckingham to the Miladi of Mrs. Brown Potter and tho D'Artagnan of Sir Herbert Treo; and since taking up management on his own account he has played Brutus, Mark Antony, Othello (wifh H. B. Irving as lago and Evelyn Millard as Desdemona), Romeo, and other classic characters. In addition, ho has created a scoro of romantic roles, such as Beaucairo, Brigadier Gerard, Don Caesar do Bazan, and others. Ho has also appeared in many of the Ibsen pieces staged in London, and his versatility in this respect is as pronounced as his acting ability and personal charm.
