NO-LICENSE HOTELS.
A SUGGESTION. Sir,— Perhaps ynu will bo able to find ppaoo in your paper for a. fow line?. First of all, lot mq.Mwesa
others for tho tone of your paper, in that wo find righteousness, truth, and the principles of our Christian faith dealt with in a sympathetic maimer. I wish to draw the attention of those who feel that the sale of spirituous liquors is undesirable to a patent fact— viz., that, speaking generally, the travelling public are driven to licensed hotels for accoommodation. As 0110 whoso duties involve constant travelling, 1 have at times to put up at accommodation houses, and one. is in a dilemma between a licensed hotel and a somewhat rough boardinghouse. At tho licensed place tho general get-up and attention aro decidedly superior to the other; but then one is annoyed by seeing drink being sold to its awful victims—often young menami this not only during tho" legal hours, but at other times. Now, if wealthy friends to Prohibition could form a largo company and establish hotels in our towns where the advantages of the licensed hotel could bo secured without its abominations, I think they would not only confer a great benefit on tho general public, but would also find it a profitable means of investment. -I am, etc., HIED. H. SPENCER, Wanganui, July 19, 1913.
