ROCK FALLS IN SUBWAY.

A charge of dynamite had to be used to clear the fallen rock. Eleven of the men were found crushed to death, and two were extricated alive, though seriously injured.

Tho Japanese Ambassador, Viscount Chinda, has informed the State Department that Japan, is reody to renew the arbitration agreement with tho United States which expires on August 1. The Senate is, -however, likely to offer considerable opposition to the renewal of tho treaty as the result of the dispute over the Californian Anti-Alien Bill.
