Gd. to 21s. 9d., and lighter 14s. 2d. to 17s. About 1700 were taken for export. An entry of about 4000 fat sheep was penned, the bulk being ewes. Tho maruet opened firmer, butchers operating freely, as they had got so few lambs. Wethere showed an advance of Is. per head. Fat- cattle; The yarding of fat cattle aggregated 275 head, the current orice of beef being 225. 6d. to 30s. per ICOlb., according to quality. Steers realised £5 10s. to £9 10s.; extra, to £14 55.; heifers, £5 17s. 6d. to £i 0 2s. 6d.; cows, .£5 Eg. to £10 7s. 6d. .
