HOCKEY.

PAKE HA CLUB'S MEETING, Tlio seventh annual meeting of tho Pakelia Club (Wednesday Association) was held last evening, llr. C. J. Pfaff presided. Twelvo new-members were elected. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The report congratulated members on the success of tho team during the past season. Tho team had only lost ono match, and, for tho third time, had won tho six-asido tournament. Tho balance-sheet showed the club to be ill a sound position. It was decided to support the question of playing two grades, senior and junior, and to enter a senior and junior team. The election of officers resulted as follows—President, Mr. C. Smith; vice-' presidonts, Messrs. H. Smith, L. George. C. J. Pfaff, T. Coltman, W. Eeid, and Chant; club captain, Mr, E. Bale; vicecaptain, Mr. P. Paget; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. W. Heyhoo; committee, Messrs. Bale, Paget, Condy, Thompson, Jackson; selection committee, Messrs. Bale, Paget, Grade;, delegates to the Wednesday Association, Messrs. Paget and Gracie. A ,liearty vote. of thanks was passed to tho outgoing officers and tho chairman.

■ THE UNITED CLUB. The anunl general meeting of tho United Hockey Club was held at the Occidental Hotel las't evening. Mr. T. S. Roualdson presided over a fair atendanco of members. Seven new members were eleoted, and Mr. S. Brown was appointed an honorary member of the club. Mr. R. L. Thompson wrote stating that he would donate two hockey sticks to bo awarded to the "most improved"' players in tho junior and. third'elevens respectively, this season. It was decided to convey tho club's hearty, thanks to Mr. Thompson. Moving tho adoption of the annual report, tho chairman said that although tho senior eleven, had not obtained the premiership laflt year, it had done very well. Tile second eleven had also dono well. The club was to be congratulated upon having put a third team in the field last year. Ho hoped that this year it might succeed in putting a fourth team in the field. The club had a wonderful record of successes; lie doubted whether any club of similar age could show a better record. Tho finances were in a very ( satisfactory state. In the course of a brief discussion that, followed, confidence was _ cxm-essed that the club would succeed in regaining tho -premiership. The report and balance-sheet vero adopted. Officers were elected as follow for the ensuing,year:—President, Mr. W. E. Pearson; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. S. Ronaldson, C. A. Richardson, W. dJ. Belhune, and D. Miller; club captain,' Mr. \V. J. Organ; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. Wi Thompson; the whole of tho foregoing wore re-elected. Committer, Messrs: J. M'Eldowncy, C. M. Collins, and W. Richards; lion, auditor. Mr. W. A. Pavitt; delegates to tho Welling, ton Hockey Association, Messrs.- W. J. Organ and H. W. Thompson; senior selection committee, Messrs. J. M'Eldowney, C. M. Collins, and A. J. Palmer; junior selection committee, Messrs. A. A". Bennett, C. W. S. Miller, and IT, A. Stuart. . Declaring tho -meeting closed, the chairman urged members to "get in early" on practice, play tho game hard, and get fit as rapidly as possible. , Theso remarks wero strongly seconded by' Mr. Luckio. who declared that "there was nothing like condition."
