PETONE COURT.
The monthly sitting of the Petone Magistrate's Court was conducted before Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M., yesterday The Inspector of Awards proceeded against Messrs. George and George, drapers, for conducting business after 1 p.m; on Wednesday. Defendants wero iined 10s., with costs Bs. A case against Vincent O'Sliea for driv-, ing a vehicle on the footpath within the borough was adjourned till April 16. A charge against Clifton Reeve for keep ing an unregistered dog was dismissed, defendant proving that the dog was not his property. Defaulting Territorials were dealt with as fMlows:—Thomas Henry Stephens, failing to render personal service, fined •E3 and costs 95.; Eobert House, Arthur E. Devinc, Louis-F. Fleet, were caeh fined ■El, costs 9s. | Eobert Nankiville, tailing to render personal service, was fined .£2, with costs 7s. Arthur Leonard Parker was convicted ai}d discharged. The case again Horaco Nunn was adjourned. An application for exemption on the ground of religious belief was granted to W. F. lladdy.
