The monthly sitting of the Petone Magistrate's Court was conducted before Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M., yesterday The Inspector of Awards proceeded against Messrs. George and George, drapers, for conducting business after 1 p.m; on Wednesday. Defendants wero iined 10s., with costs Bs. A case against Vincent O'Sliea for driv-, ing a vehicle on the footpath within the borough was adjourned till April 16. A charge against Clifton Reeve for keep ing an unregistered dog was dismissed, defendant proving that the dog was not his property. The case again Horaco Nunn was adjourned. An application for exemption on the ground of religious belief was granted to W. F. lladdy.
