RESIGNATIONS.
{TWO AUCKLAND PROFESSORS; (By Telegraph.—Pross Association.) Auckland, Maroh 19, Itegrefc and surpriso were expressed at a meeting of the Auckland University, Collego Council to-day whoa it rccoivc'd the of Professor T 1) Brown, who holds the Chairs of Chotnl istry and Physics, and Professor A, P. W. Thomas who holds tho Chairs ofi Biology and Geology. Both have been' professors at the college since its inception' thirty Mrs ago. Professor 'Brown explained that the increasing effort he found necessary to carry out his duties warned him that it was timo to retire. Ho cavo notice that he' intended, to resign at the end of February, 1914. Professor Thomas said ljo intended to resign owing to heavy and increasing duties which imposed a heavy strain on him, ond his sight had! suftored.
