NO PROVISION FOR EDUCATION
COMMISSIONERS' PROTEST. (Res. August 29, 0.10 a.m.)
London, August 25. The Commissioners of National Education for Ireland, who comprise Protestants and Roman Catholics, havu been unable to obtain an-interview with tho Prime Minister or Mr. Birrell, Secretary of State for Ireland, in connection with the provision for primary education under the Homo Bulo Bill. The Commissioners in consequence have communicated a' memorandum to the press showing that tho expenses of the Department ore increaeiii" automatically, that urgent reforms are long overdue, and that yet under (he Bill Hie existing position will be stereotyped, and tie normal development of th» administration cease r.nless the Home Rule Government effect savings in other public departments or impose fresh taxation on ' the Irish taxpayer.
