MATTERS QUIETENING DOWN. By Teleeraph—Press Aesociatlon-OopyrfEht London, August 1. Matters at {he dock 3 are quieter. Fifty per cent, of the strikers have been reinstated. All workers are being searched for revolvers. Several newspapers contrast the continued failure of Mr. M'Kenna, Home Secretary, to adequately protect labour at the docks with the action of Mr. Birrell, Secretary of State for Ireland, at Belfast. (Eec. August 2, 10.15 p.m.) London, August 2. Conditions are now practically normal at the docks.
