THE JOHNSONVILLE OLUB. The Johnsonville Golf Club has made rapid strides since its inception this seasou. The course, which was designed by Mr. Watt.?, of Heretaunga, consists of nine hole 3, with many of them considerably over 350 yards apart. Given favourable woather, tlio competition will be started at an early date, and these, judging by the enthusiasm of the members, should bo full of interest. Tho links are situated about two minutes from the railway station, and good players have expressed tho opinion that they aro tho most "natural" links in or about Wellington.
VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. By Telegraph—Press Association-CoDyrisat Melbourne, August 2. The Victorian amateur golf championship was won by P. G. Murdoch. "In spite of scores of unkindly knocks a Challenger Golf Ball, after 252 holes and a strong man's play, has kopt its shape splendidly." The Challenger is a winner always.* 2
