Chronometer Rating Notice.—At 1 p.m. to-day a galvanometer cignal for rating chronometers will be sent from tho Observatory to the Public Telegraph Offlco and to the Dominion MuEcrnn. The needle ■ will move at 1 p.m. exactly of Now Zealand Etandard mean time, when a chronometer set to Greenwich mean time should show 15 hours 30min. Any difference will bo the error of tho chronometer on Greenwich mean tiino. At 9 p.m. correct time will also bo signalled from the Observatory by means of electric lights.
